Citizen Paddle Rodeo session I

Hey Paddlers!

Its almost time for the end of season competition! The event will consist of three scored events which will round up to a triple crown winner. Points from each event will be added together to determine the winners for the Men's and Women's division.

*There will be prizes for first, second, and third place finishers in both divisions*

The first event will be held on Wednesday, August 2nd at 6:00 PM in the Salida playpark. Participants will have one 45 second run in the upper playhole, and one 45 second run in the lower playhole. Scores will be added together for relative placement. The second part will be a DOWNRIVER SLOLAM RACE in playboats. Again, the fastest time will take 1st place and the placing will be relative to how well everyone else does.

Scoring goes as follows:

1st place - 100 points
2nd place - 90 points
3rd place - 80 points
4th place -75 points
5th place - 70 points

and so on in 5 point increments.

The Salida Session has two events to score points in. The final event will be held at the Buena Vista Session the following Wednesday at 6:00 PM. The throw down will be a two 45 second ride event with scores added together to determine placement.

Once all three events are finished, points will be added up, winners will be decided, and prizes will be handed out.

Join us for the after party at the Lariat Tavern on Main Street in Buena Vista after the BV rodeo event. The theme will be disco night!

Sign up for the rodeo is at the Colorado Kayak Supply in Salida. Entry fee is $15 dollars per person. Sign up can be by call in at 719.539.2920 or by walk in at the Salida CKS.

Feel free to call if you have any questions!

Intermediate Paddle Wrap-up

Hey Paddlers!

The intermediate downriver paddle on Sunday was a blast. We had a great turnout of some really awesome people.

Everyone did great, with a few flips and only one swim. We even had the opportunity to worry a bit about the lightning and hail consuming us. Minus getting pegged in the arm with ice and the worry of getting jolted, it was a great time. Attached are some pictures to prove it!

If you missed out on the paddle there is still time to join the festivities! Next week is the kid’s paddle, and following that is the free on-water boat demo. Check back for updates and details closer to the day of the event!

Note: Picture loader isnt working, will load pictures soon!
